about

'Ambasselita' is a song composed by Dexter Story using one of the indigenous scales of Northern Ethiopia. Written for Todd Simon's Ethio Cali Ensemble, it has been performed live numerous times and was included on the 'Ethio Cali Live at the Blue Whale' cassette release of early 2014. Dexter Story says "I attempted to evoke the spirit of Ethiopia in a 3/4 rhythm that implies a Latin salsa feeling." This recording is a demo.
